1.单词发音有问题
比如我作为四川人去听浙江朋友讲方言，对方说的字我可能全认识，可还是听不懂对方在讲什么。这是因为同样的字我的发音和对方发音不一样。听到对方发音，也根本想不到对应的字。同理，有些同学的单词发音和标准发音相去太远，自然听力听不懂。
其实单词发音只要基本正确无需十分地道就能听懂英文听力。英文全世界都在用，各地有各地的一点口音，也并不影响交流。但是有些朋友错得太离谱，尤其是重音和元音，听不懂听力也不奇怪。
产生这种现象的重要原因是很多朋友们极其不重视单词发音。刚学单词时可能还读一读，后期完全不读单词的朋友不在少数。再加上，国内考试很多听力都比阅读简单太多，口语也不考或者考了也不计入成绩。这实际上在变相鼓励大家不读单词只记意思，不重视听说，只重视阅读。
但是不管出国考试，还是生活工作实用，听力能力都是必须的。所以，背单词时，千万别忘了首先练习朗读单词。不管你是高二，大三还是研一，如果单词发音这关没过，都要尽快补上。学音标，学习自然拼读，自己练习拼读，用音频跟读。总之，要经常朗读你背过的所有单词，要做到看到单词第一反应都是正确的发音，而不是之前错误的发音。

说到单词发音，很多朋友可能马上联想到句子的语音语调，比如连读，弱读，升降调等。其实句子的语音语调对于口语很重要，对于听力而言远没有熟悉句法逻辑重要。
英语语音语调的一条基本规律就是是对于表义十分重要的实词会比较清晰，虚词会快一些，模糊一些。所以只要熟悉单词的正确发音，一般都能听出实词，再结合语境猜一猜，也能听懂篇章大意。
那如何把每个字都听出来呢？首先，学句法，多阅读。你没有看错，首先不是多听，而是学句法和多阅读。《自然英语学习法》提出没有语言环境学二外就要遵循"读听说写"的顺序，听要在读后。主要原因是不同于听力，阅读时我们可以自己把控节奏，慢慢品味，仔细思考。这有利于我们深入理解和熟悉常见的英语句子结构和逻辑范式，打下良好的句法和逻辑基础。有了这种基础，听听力时有听不懂的地方，我们也可以根据自己的知识储备自动脑补出来。
所以，可以说，很多时候我们并不是完全听懂，而是连听带猜懂的。而猜的能力首先来自于阅读的积累。
至于怕猜错，这是没必要的担心。因为随着积累增多，你猜对概率只会越来越高，无限接近100%。其间你还会体会到听力中一种神奇的现象，即"先听懂意思，再听出单词"。这是因为我们听出了部分单词后，根据常见逻辑推测，就能理解整句的意思。然后根据要表达的这个意思和句法知识，自然也就能判断出原句是哪些单词。千分之一秒前你听不出那些单词也全都听出来了。
当然，这时如果你还掌握了句子语音语调的相关规律，也能帮助你识别出最初没听懂的原因，进一步验证自己推测的正确性。
当然，以上心理活动（听出主要单词理解大意，根据逻辑脑补细节含义，根据句法补充具体单词，根据语音语调知识验证脑补的单词）都是发生在电光火石之间。
所以要提升听力水平，学习句法和大量阅读的作用仅次于朗读单词。语音语调知识对听力也是不错的辅助，但认为听力不好全是因为语音语调就大错特错了。
3.背景知识不熟悉
单词发音没问题，句法逻辑熟悉了，如果还听不懂，则可能是背景知识的问题。听我们不熟悉的话题，哪怕是听中文也不容易听懂啊。
英文不是中国人的语言，自然大多数英文材料也不是谈中国人的事情。我们不了解背景，看不懂听不懂也正常。
所以，学习英文的时候我们要有意识地寻找话题熟悉的材料。我最喜欢看外国人聊中国的书，何伟的《江城》曾经让我废寝忘食。针对听力的话，你尽可以去播客和油途上找你喜欢或关注的话题来听来看。
另外一个方法是，选定一个话题后，先去读听相关的中文材料，然后再去找相关的英文材料。我们业内把这个叫做平行阅读法，平行听力法。
4.有效训练还不够
要说有效，先说哪些无效。只练听力不练阅读或阅读太少是无效的。扣字词而不关注含义的听力是无效的。很多同学听得"太认真"，急切的想听懂每个单词，有哪一个单词听不懂，就焦虑慌张，结果连大意都听不懂。这是本末倒置。
有效训练必须是understandable input，理解性输入。重点在于要理解，即你听的内容必须是你感兴趣的又基本能听懂的。只有这样才能在持续听力训练中逐步建立起英文表达和它的含义之间的自然连接。只有这样才能逐步实现听到声音，马上脑中就有形象，心中就有感受。
